Don Cavalli & Eric Gloaguen

Kansas City Railroad Blues

It’s always revealing to hear people from other countries playing bluegrass. Listening to Don Cavalli and Eric Gloaguen is a study in contrast. Gloaguen is a fine banjo player who may be familiar to readers of this magazine – he plays pretty much the way it ought to be done. Cavalli’s vocals are just different enough to make you sit up and notice that something is different. It’s not just his slight accent – he has a different approach and way of phrasing that makes you sit up and pay attention. This is a fine, fun recording.
